City Energy & RLA – A warm and cosy match

Over the past few weeks City Energy and the Residential Landlords Association (RLA) have been working together to ensure privately let properties across England, Scotland and Wales are upgraded with free grant funding. The aim of this partnership is to help private landlords to reduce energy bills for tenants, improve their portfolio’s curb appeal and potentially increasing the value of each individual property.

There are no specific requirements for the Landlords only for their properties.  With requirements we mean aspects such as:

  • type of house – detached, terraced, end of terrace and similar
  • fuel type – gas fired heating, electric heating, oil or even LPG
  • type of home improvement – insulation, heating, renewable energy generation.

The requirements don’t end there and neither does the service provided by City Energy. Grant funding is usually only available if the property is occupied by tenants in receipt of specific benefits & a preset maximum household income.

This service is available to RLA members and non-members alike. Contact City Energy for more information.

How does this work?

We determine if the property is suitable by researching and surveying a landlord’s property portfolio. In many cases free grant funding will cover the entire cost of any relevant heating or insulation installation. In cases where grant funding does not cover all of the cost, landlords can cover the shortfall or consider our Pay As You Save finance offer. For more information on Pay As You Save, go to www.PayAsYouSave.com or click here

Its simple. Are you a private landlord with one or more homes in your portfolio? Get in touch.

Can you tell me a bit more?

We will ask you to provide a list of properties that you would like us to have a look at.  We will confirm which homes qualify for grant funding and schedule on-site assessments with your approval and that of the tenant.

Following the assessment and verification of the grant funding value for those properties, we will book a suitable installation date. Throughout the process we will make sure you and your tenant know the do’s and don’ts of your installation and provide you with manufacturer guarantees of up to 10 years or insurance backed guarantees for up to 25 years. While we are at your property, we can of course provide you with an updated EPC also.

Which products are free?

The following installations can often be completed free of charge to the landlord or require a small contribution.
